I LOVE this dress! I love it so much that I own three of this variety from Old Navy. This is a simple swing dress that hides flab and looks FABULOUS--or should I say FLABulous?!
For chubby teachers and thin teachers alike, this forgiving but classy dress is an excellent addition to anyone's wardrobe. I paired it with my oh-so-sensible Dansko sandals and...
...a pair of owl earrings from Claire's

THIS NECKLACE!
This came in my stocking one year from my husband (eh hem, I mean Santa). It is silver toned with mother-of-pearl inlays in the eyes and belly.
OWLS--WHHHAAATTT???!!!???
Yep, I used to love owls. I collected owl wall hangings, owl pictures, owl clothes, and owl jewelry for many years before owls became a "thing" again in the -00's. I stalked Ebay.com relentlessly for anything owl related. I have vintage jewelry, pictures, etc that I won in auctions.
I felt so PROUD of my unique owl items...until EVERYONE else decided owls were cool again. Suddenly there were owl things EVERYWHERE!
What this offered me was the opportunity to buy a lot of owl related items for the classroom--decorated in owl-style. For years I added to my owl-o-rama until the entire, quite large room was festooned with owls everywhere the eye could see.

LOOK AT ALL THE LAMINATION I HAD TO CUT OUT!!! (I watched 2 seasons of Lost cutting all of these)
And this is just a small PORTION of my room and owl things in it.
Back to my main point...owls were suddenly THE THING! Yes, this made owl things easy to find and easy to buy, but it made my owl addiction less unique. I began to feel "samey" and ordinary. If I didn't have to work hard to find owl items, what was the POINT!?!
Now I'm into ocean decorations--fish, shells, crabs, lobsters, jellyfish. Let's see how long it takes before THEY are the hot items to buy!
